Hi! We are Dina and Ryan. We are backpackers. We have been on the road since April 2009, and we have hit more than 20 countries. We are fascinated by the differences between places that we’ve been. The traditions, the norms, and the behavior. We love to see the new things that are not usually found from where we are, like the remnants of ancient civilizations for example.

Us, the two backpacks, and the clothes that we are wearing, that’s all what we have, and we certainly enjoy this simplicity. Some people ask, when will be the end of our journey? When are we going to settle? Our answer is, we don’t know yet. The world is a big place to explore, who knows what happen in the future. We will continue to explore while it’s possible.

I really admire what you are doing and have been thinking for some time that I would love to do it myself! how do you make money?
Thanks for the comment, Matt. We were in your position ourselves a couple of years ago, checking out people’s stories and wishing we could travel too. When we started traveling we were surprised by how easy it was. In hindsight we probably spent too much time planning and saving money – we should have gone for it sooner!
I work in software/IT, and was able to arrange with my employer to work remotely and go to part-time hours. Combined with being frugal while on the road we’ve been able to travel without really dipping much into our savings. I’m planning to write a post in the near future about my experiences working from the road.
Oh this is so brave, so courageous and so lovely to see. We had to delay our Greece trip this year since my brother is getting married at the same time – but I do travel some….I used to go about 100,000 miles a year now it’s a little less. Later I go to LA then to Toronto for film festival, Singapore for a wedding, and Bali to see mother nature at work….gosh it’s ever enough. Enjoy it, document it, take care of your health and share with us your tips!
